Welcome The New Year!! 4.543 Billion +/- half a million.
We say it's 2017. It's nice to have a calender to track our 24 hour periods and 7 day weeks and 52 week cycles. Mother Earth, though, works on a different time cycle. The planet does not give a stuff about what year WE say it is. Only about how old she is, and she is old. She breathes, she groans, she inhales and exhales.
If she were only 2017 years old, she would still be an infant. Forming and volcanic and a place where this viral thing called man could have never survived. If you ask mother Earth, she will tell you she, at 4.5 Billion years old is but a not quite middle aged lady.
She has had many face lifts, both natural over billions of years, and some man made thanks to large earth moving equipment. She has been abused through cosmic bashing and atomic testing. She has been warm and cold, flooded and parched... but she maintains her dignity and her beauty in the cosmos. Not bad for a gal who is over 4.5 Billion years old.
So HAPPY 2017 to us, and happy 4.543 Billion to Mother Earth!
Have a great day

I Think (Part 3)
I THINK:
He who smiles in a crisis has found someone to blame.
Politicians and diapers should be both be changed regularly...all for the same reason
Light travels faster than sound. That is why some people seem bright until they open their mouth
The shinbone's purpose is to find furniture in the dark
God mus LOVE stupid people, or he wouldn't have made so many
Some people say 'If you can't beat 'em, join 'em' I say ' If you can't beat 'em, beat 'em, cause they will be expecting you to join them and you have the element of surprise....'
War does not determine who is right, only who is left
We have enough gun control. What we need is idiot control
Laugh at your problems....everyone else does
I did not fight my way to the top of the food chain to eat tofu
How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but a whole box can't start a campfire.
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese
Have a great day

Don't Worry..You are not in control of anything..........
Each day the human mind spends over 70% of it's time over thinking and worrying. That's a hell of a lot of time thinking about stuff that has not happened yet.
Worry is one of the strongest "fear" emotions we have. We lose sleep, we have night sweats, we tend to think in worst case scenarios. And it can drive us to the nut house in a hurry.
The thing is, though, that if you look back on all the time you spent worrying about stuff, and the eventuality that the stuff you worried about never happened, what would you do with all that time that you wasted letting your brain take you hostage? If the 70% number is true, then you spend 265 days a year worrying about stuff. Over, say an 80 year life span, that 20,440 days, or 490,560 hours where you could be using your brain for something else.
Life is short. We have no time for herding cats.
The purpose of life is to be happy- Dalai Lama
We live in a world where the media works very hard to instill fear in us. Turn on the news and tell me how many happy stories do you hear in an hour? Don't get me wrong, the world is not what it used to be. We have threats everywhere. We always have, but now we have a media that can bring it to us in real time in 4K high Def. Our serenity is being attacked on all fronts. Here are some ways to deal with all this.
Meditate. Get into being one with your consciousness. Sit quietly and put processed thoughts out of your head. Concentrate of the sounds around you. The wind, the rain, the sound of the fly in the room. Live in the experience of now. Don't let the outside world allow your mind to wander. If you hear a plane, or a fire truck, or a dog barking in the distance, just accept it as what is instead of letting your mind go somewhere else. 15 minutes a day. Not easy, but with practice, you can get it.
Don't watch the news for long periods. .... We all need to know what is going on, but don't leave the news on in the background all day while you are pottering around the house. Watch the headlines, and get on with your day. Half the time, the news just pisses you off anyway, then you have to deal with anger too.
Stay off facebook for a day every week. OR set a no information time. Turn off from social media. Give it a rest. The world will continue to turn if you wait a day to like someone's post.
Sometimes, leave your phone at home. Before cell phones, we went along our merry way, and when we got home, we had an answering machine. We dealt with stuff then. As a result we saw more of the world around us.
Watch cartoons. No, seriously. Who can have a shitty day after watching Bugs, or Daffy, or the Flintstones....Great old cartoons are a way to get back to a simpler time. It really does take your mind off stuff. I believe if more adults watched cartoons once in a while, the world would be a better place.
Go for a walk. See the world around you. (A good time to keep your phone at home) It's a beautiful place, remember?
And last but not least, Don't worry..You are not in control of anything.
Merry Christmas

The Entertainer and the Evil Agent: A tale of Warning for Las Vegas Entertainers
Once upon a time, there was an entertainer who was represented by an agent. The agent would get the entertainer gigs, which the entertainer would do without hesitation or complaint. The entertainer even went as far as to drop what he was doing to rush to a gig because the person originally booked to do the gig crapped out. In short, the entertainer was always there for the agent no matter how simple the gig.
The agent, though, had a history of slow payment, which made the entertainer very frustrated indeed, but, eventually, after a slew of excuses, the agent finally paid, and everyone went upon their happy way.
One day, in the 3rd month of the year, the agent called the entertainer and asked if he and his band of minstrels were available to do an out of town gig in the 9th month of the year. The entertainer, after being told the amount of compensation for his time and travel, agreed to perform, and contracts were signed. The entertainer asked that the agent to please be sure the funds would be available before he and his band of minstrels travels across the vast distance to the high mountain where the gig was set. 'Oh, yes' replied the agent, assuring him that he would be compensated the day after he got back. To this, there was much rejoicing, and much time spent in preparation for the performance.
On the day of the gig, the entertainer and his merry men (and wife who sings backup) arrived at the venue. A beautiful venue it was. Set in the mountains with a lovely outdoor stage.
About the time of the soundcheck, the leader of the venue came upon the entertainer and inquired if further requests for the band's services could be handled without the intervention of the agent, because lo and behold, they were without scruples and worse to deal with than a dragon on a bad day. This then became a red flag to the entertainer who told the leader of the venue that it would have to be discussed at another time, as there were stipulations in contracts that forbid such actions. This was known as clause 10.
The performance was stellar, and all had a great time, with the whole crowd staying for all three sets. Standing ovations and encores prevailed. All was well with the world. The entertainer loaded his gear into his rented Chrysler Town and Country, and drove across the many miles back to his kingdom.
And it came to pass that when the entertainer approached the agent for his due money, that the agent told him that the bank had not yet cleared the check, and he would have to wait 10 to 14 days for it to clear. The entertainer waited a fortnight and there was still no joy. At this time, having heard the same tired story over and over again, he called upon the leader of the venue to see what the holdup was. The leader of the venue disclosed to the entertainer that compensation was indeed in the hands of the evil agent, and had been since the 1st month of the year when a deposit was sent, and again in the 8th month of the year when the remaining balance was sent, and that indeed the checks had been cashed long before the entertainer had journeyed to the land far away where the gig took place.
This displeased the entertainer mightily as he realized that the agent had indeed lied to him and accepted deposit funds for the gig 3 months before even approaching him, and had, indeed contracted under his name not knowing if he was in fact available for the dates in question. Adding to his displeasure was the fact that the evil agent had been spending his money on what had to be frivolities and in no way intended to compensate our hero for his toil.
He sent a message though the royal email messenger telling the evil agent to please compensate him, or he would be forced to approach the royal solicitor to enforce the contract which the agent was in ginormous breach thereof. (Besides being a liar and thief). The agent reacted with a hearty 'bugger off' informing the entertainer that he should henceforth communicated only through his lawyer. A ruse to buy time, thinking that the entertainer would no do so. they were wrong. A call was sent out to the entertainer's lawyer, who upon seeing the situation, was ready to take proper action.
After many attempts to collect the money, the evil agent agreed to pay the sum due by the end of the 10th month. The time came and went with no word or compensation, and the Lawyer to this day has not been able to contact the evil agent, as they have gone back under the rock from whence they came, leaving the entertainer in the hole for a vast amount.
The entertainer vowed not to rest until justice is done and compensation is settled upon. If this does not happen by the 1st month of the new year, the entertainer shall disclose to the world the name, address, phone number and email address of the evil agent for all the world to see. He shall discredit the evil agent all over social media, and expose them for what they really are. A lying, cheating, operating without a business license, hopeless, hapless, scum buggering bunch of slime balls.
Merry Christmas And Happy New Year!

Sorry, I've been busy!
So, It's been since before Thanksgiving since I have been here putting my thoughts down. For those of you who follow, my apologies. Had to do the T-day thing, and have been really busy finishing up the Christmas album. It is, by the way, ready and "IN THE CAN as we say in the industry. You can order through paypal. 12.00 USD includes shipping. It's a collection of some of Las Vegas's greatest entertainers on one Christmas CD. paypal to ronnieleetwist@gmail.com
So, lets talk about the holidays. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad... I think the PC gang is sooooo worried about words and not paying attention to the meaning of the wish. Stay with me here. If I wish you Merry Christmas, and that offends you, I am sorry. It's words. If I wish you Merry Christmas and really send warmth and good energy to you, sincerity, love and friendship, that is more important than wishing you Happy Holidays just to say the words hoping I don't offend you. I am a Christmas guy. If you wish me Happy Hanukkah, though I am not Jewish, I take that as a heartfelt wish from you to me. I will wish it back, and maybe even throw in a Merry Christmas to you. It's a season of love. If you wish me a Happy Holiday, that's great too...but I think legislating whether we should have a Christmas Tree or a Holiday tree, or wishing Merry Christmas to someone can end you up in court because the PC police take offense to it is a stupid waste of people's time. Believe what you want. Great thing about America. But don't try to force me to celebrate Happy Holiday when I choose to Celebrate Christmas just because it does not fit in with your particular agenda. If we have become so sensitive that things like saying Merry Christmas sends someone over the edge, maybe we need to get them a puppy under their Holiday Tree. The other side of the coin is true too. Let's just all get along here.
Bottom line... The words should not matter as much as the feeling of the season. If you wish me Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, or Merry Christmas. or nothing at all, I will send you warm wishes of the season in return... always. I chose MERRY CHRISTMAS. Have a wonderful season of love and giving.
Have a great day

One Mouth and Two Ears
I have heard it said many times that we are given one mouth and two ears for a reason. If we listen twice as much as we talk, we might just learn something. I am more than willing to listen to you, as long as you are willing to listen to me. Just because you have a point of view, does not give you the right to try to force it down my throat. Speak your truth as you know it. I will listen, but please allow me the same respect, instead of picking and choosing a word or two that might offend you and then start in a tirade about why I need to think the way you do.
I make my living listening to people. When you sell, if you learn to shut up, your customer will tell you exactly what you need to do to sell them...whatever you are selling....cars, trucks, houses, boats, airplanes or widgets. If you are planning your next sentence in your brain while they are talking to you, you will never be a good listener. Quiet your mind and concentrate on what the person is saying...then pause and think about it before you answer. The pause is very powerful in conversation. I allows you to think about your answer, and makes the other person switch from talking mode to listening mode.
I am a black belt at interrupting. I have tried to be more aware of this, because I have learned I hear more when my mouth is not moving. I call it the two way radio method of conversation. When you have a two way radio, you have to wait until the person on the other end says "over" signaling you that you can talk now. In return he has to do the same. A lot less gets misunderstood when everyone is listening.
Maybe next time you are having a conversation, used the "over" method silently to yourself when they are done speaking. Don't interrupt. You will have your chance to talk.
Have a great day!

TO GROUP OR NOT TO GROUP...LEAVE ME OUTTA THIS
With the advent of modern technology, the chain letter was replaced by the chain email which was replaced with the chain Facebook post which has been replaced by the chain text.
You know, the text where you are included with 65 other people wanting to have you reply or comment to everything from Boxer or Briefs, to political views, to saying Amen, Drinks at Bob's who's in?.... to countless situations...about this time of year you will be getting group texts about Cornbread or Rye Bread Stuffing...Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays...Turkey or Tofu...So and So is having a party, rsvp...yadda yadda yadda...
Point is, I don't mind getting a text from anyone about anything. My phone pings and I look at it, and at that point decide to respond or ignore. My bug bear is when I have to listen to my phone ping half a dozen times in a 2 minute period because everyone else is responding to the sender, and being part of the group, it is assumed that I give a crap about what everyone else thinks. "Text me back or you are not my friend..." What is this? Third grade? Here's a thought....Friends don't send friends stupid group texts!"
So, about now, dear reader, you are saying, just delete it and unjoin the thread. I have enough threads in my life that I should not HAVE to unjoin something that I did not join in the first place. There are times that group texts are easier for sharing things. At work, Everyone gets a daily sales report group texted to them. Fine. Necessary and expected. But when someone asked a question on that thread and everyone starts answering it's a pain in the ass. ding...ding...dingdingdingding....
It's part of life, can't be avoided, so, feel free to group text all you want, but don't feel bad if I don't reply.
While we are on the subject of annoying text messages, What is up with all this invasive advertising on your phone now? I can't go to Walmart, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond or even McDonalds without my phone pinging, and a text ad saying you are at Walmart...look at these specials...Again, I could shut off my location access but WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DO THAT??? Any thoughts? We will address this at another time.
Have a great day.

BAD DECISIONS MAKE FOR GREAT STORIES
There is a saying...The last words a Redneck says before he dies are "Hey, hold my beer and watch this"....
Have you ever been part of a scenario where you KNOW that it is not going to end well, but you watch it unfold in slow motion just so you can tell the story later?
As we grow older and mature, we are less Kelsoish (Ref: That 70's show) and use a bit more common sense than we did when we were 18 and knew everything. We are no longer 10 feet tall and bullet proof. We have all made bad decisions at some point in our life. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but now? Not so good. It can be a life long thing like getting married to the wrong person, and not listening to that little voice in your head. As we grow older, we start to learn that the little voice knows what it is talking about.
Remember the old days when you used to regale your friends with the "weekend"...I know every one of us has told the story ..."I got hammered, threw up twice in the ficus tree, got into a brawl, left my pants .. I don't know where, and woke up in my car with the cops tapping on the window....................It was a blast, man" Bad decision, great story about jail.
Many of these decisions we make involve alcohol. The bad decision elixor. The juice of irresponsibility. The old "Sorry I trashed your house by driving my car into your living room. I was drunk..."
I have been sober for 34 years, so I can not use that excuse anymore. Now I just have to say, "Sorry, I'm just a dumbass I guess..."
I suppose all our kids and grandkids will all have great stories to tell based of really bad decisions. It's our rite of passage from know it all youth to I really don't want to know adulthood.
So today, with all my heart, I ask you to think twice about that bungee jump....
Have a great day!

And so it begins..................
With a week and a half until Thanksgiving, we got it out of the way today. My brother in law and his wife are here visiting from Canada. The timing of their trip made it easier to have turkey and all the fixins' today. My wife and I will then use this T-day credit, and do NOTHING on Thanksgiving day but sit at home in our jammies and watch the Macy's parade. (I will admit it was strange to cook a full blown Thanksgiving day dinner (Complete with pie and naps) and not have the parade on. Maybe I will DVR it this year so if by chance I find myself in a similar situation next Fall, I can watch it again. That all said, I guess my family has officially kicked off the Holiday Season. Ho Ho Ho.
The Christmas CD we talked about earlier is done, just waiting to get it packaged, but they are ready to order. E mail me at Speedcatproductions@hotmail.com for Pay Pal instructions. They are 10 bucks each plus 2 bucks shipping, with the proceeds going to St Jude's Children's Hospital and Toys for Tots. It's a great album featuring 10 great Las Vegas headliners.
Within the next two weeks, there will be nowhere in town that you can go without being in the midst of Christmas music, trees, lights, Bell ringers (donate something this year) and good tiding of great joy. Not to mention all those great Black Friday deals! It is the start of my favorite time of year, albeit totally commercialized. Oh well, we take it all. Heck, it's Christmas!!
Do yourself a favor. Between now and December 24th, make it a point to watch It's a Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause, A Christmas Carol (my favorite is George C Scott), The Family Man, Holiday Inn, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Christmas with the Kranks, The Christmas Story, And end it Prancer on Christmas Eve.
Deck someone's halls and Jingle someone's bells this year.
Have a Great day.

Salute a Veteran Today
It does not matter if you "Support" going to war or not. Leave the feelings aside and salute a Veteran today. These are the people who keep our country safe. They are the ones who go into the belly of the beast so we can sit on our couch and watch Monday night football.
My Father is a Vet. He served for over 30 years in the Army. He went to Viet Nam at least twice that I know of. He met my mom when she was a young strudel in Germany about 5 minutes after he enlisted. They met in 1958 and I was born in '59. My Dad is oine of the best men I know. He was proud to serve our country and fight for our freedoms that we have today.
It really does not matter if you are Republican, Democrat or Indie. When you are on the field of battle, you don't ask the guy next to you who he or she voted for. You just take care of the person wearing that uniform that says "I am an American, and I will fight to the death to defend the great country I love."
God Bless our servicemen and women in all the military branches. Thank you for being there for US every day. You deserve the best our country can give you. You are all heros.
Have a great day!

Election is over, let's talk FOOD!
Election is over! (YAY) and we have a President Trump. Cheer if you like, Swear if you're pissed. Let's talk about Thanksgiving Dinner.
This year, we are doing T-day a week or so earlier with relatives coming to town. As I am on the low carb / very little sugar diet, Holidays are going to be a bit different for me this year. First off, I have to stay away from the thing I wait all year for. My Martinelli's sparkling Cranberry/Apple juice. LOADED with sugars.
My inspiration is that I have dropped 23 pounds in about 6 weeks by doing nothing more than cutting out 90% of carbs and sugars. I DO feel better, and losing the weight has made it easier to RUN away from all those no no foods that tend to make me rounder.
I still allow myself a little dark chocolate every day and some carbs. But I have leaned that I do not have to eat the WHOLE loaf of french bread or the entire 1/4 pound chocolate bar.
So, for Thanksgiving this year it's non hormone fed turkey, cornbread stuffing, (Half a serving for me) Green Beans and a bit of cranberry. Easy on the gravy as it FAT FAT FAT, and and some organic mashed potato (half my usual amount).
To drink, I have gone to Club Soda and lime. Refreshing and bubbly.
Where people get slammed dieting during the holidays, is, of course, candies and cakes and pies and ice cream, and of course alcohol. (The 5 Holiday food groups). My weakness being the baked goods. I don't drink, so I don't pour on the sugar there. (Alcohol turns to sugar the minute it passes your teeth). I have given up doing the score card...you know, If I don't have this, I can have this...does not work, because you have no willpower. That is the key. Step away from the table. Here is my challenge. Today, I weigh 223.7 pounds (from about 246 6 weeks ago). My goal through the holidays is not so much to lose a whole lot more, (That would be nice, but it's a lot of pressure) but to maintain where I am and not gain. I will occasionally end a blog with today's weight. But I will not make blogs here about what I am eating...what a bore. Join me in the challenge. What the hell?
Here is something my wife told me that has helped a lot. Your divine beings watching over you take you literally when you say stuff. Being your spiritual guardians, they try to help you. So if you say "I have lost XX pounds on this diet," they will find the weight you lost and give it back to you. Instead, think of it as Releasing the weight instead of losing it. A simple mind thing, but hey, it works.

Wow, we can talk about something else now!
IT's election day! Haleluya! The news cycles will squeeze every drop out of this wet rag. It's all we have heard about every day, all day for 2 years! What will all the news anchors and experts talk about now? I'll be back after this AD!
How about this? I work for Kia. Proud to be a multiple Kia owner. This year Kia is coming out with the 2017 Kia Soul TURBO. That's right. The Hamsters are about to be supercharged. I am sure you have seen the Soul everywhere. They are one of the most popular selling cars in the free world. They are fun to drive, get great milage and are very affordable. But, now, they are going to be a little fire breathing monster. 201 HP out of a 1.6 Litre. Here's the deal, not only TURBO, but also leather, navigation, push-button start, cooled seats, the whole nine yards.
Remember that Kia also features the 10 year, 100,000 mile drive train warranty and the 5 year 60,000 bumper to bumper PLUS at no added cost, 5year, 60000 mile road side assistance. Email me for info..cashatkia@centurylink.net
Now back to our show....
I am sure that the end of this election coverage is nowhere in sight. We will go from who will win, to who won and what the hell are we going to do now? If HE wins, he's not a politician..If SHE wins, she is the ultimate politician....The future of the USA depends on one of these two. Makes one feel like a long tailed cat in a room full of Rocking Chairs. I guess all one can do it cast your vote and hope for the best. Again, I am not going to tip my hand. I voted for who I thought would be best. But as vile as this election has become, no matter how I voted, the other side will go to lengthy and ugly remarks about why I am an ass****.... That's my whole point, we live in a Democratic Republic where everyone, even you is entitled to vote for who you think is best.....Even if you ARE wrong.
Have a great day.

Trying to stay incognito during this election time
With just a couple of days left until the election, I have, in fact voted early. I will not disclose my choice in a public forum, suffice to say, those who know me probably can guess my choice.
What I have seen, and I know I am not breaking any big story here, is that it seems this has become an election based on who you hate rather than who you think is most qualified to run the country. fireballs being launched from both sides accusing the other person of massive wrongdoings, political incorrectness, stupidity blah blah blah.....What we have not heard a lot of, is how we are going to fix the mess this great country is in. Yes, there is the occasional "I will do this or that" in between reminding us why the other person is the wrong one to fix things.
I voted for the first time in my life back in the early 80's. I have since voted both Republican and Democrat. I looked at the choices and made my choice for President based on who was best for the job based their policies. This time, though, it seems like it's more important to know what a bad person the other candidate is rather than where they stand on policy. It's the rise of the inferior man. (Person).
I really can not wait until the election is over. All the news channels speculating on who is ahead or not ahead...and the polls...don't even get me started on polling. (Think Brexit)
I do believe that the news media is too involved in the political machine. Even 20 years ago, you did not know everything a candidate was doing every second of the day, and less about what they did, say 20 years ago. My personal opinion is that the news media needs to just report the facts, and quit bringing in panel after panel of experts who can only speculate and yell insults at each other. When I was involved in radio for almost 20 years, the number one rule in news was to NOT editorialize. NEWSFLASH...THe news is not supposed to be entertaining. It's supposed to be informative. This is what happened today, this is who is involved and we will be back with more as we learn the FACTS.... Pretty Simple. I know we will never get back to just reporting the news. I long sometimes for the old days. I often yell at my T.V...."Just tell me what's going on!!!" I don't think I can even watch election coverage which starts...uh...a year ago... I will just lob in now and then to see who they THINK is going to win.
Cynical? Probably. BUT, let he who has not thought this cast the first stone!
Have a great day.

I Think (Part 2)
I THINK
What consumes your mind controls your life.
You should stop looking for happiness in the exact place you lost it
It's scary what a smile can hide.
The smarter you get, the less you speak.
The secret of having it all is believing that you already do.
You can still be a good person with a kind heart and still say "no".
You have two ears and one mouth for a reason.
Silence is an answer too.
Falling down is an accident. Staying down is a choice.
When nothing goes right, turn left.
Creativity is intelligence having fun.
Nothing haunts us like what we did NOT say.
The past is a place of reference, not a place of residence.
Have a Great Day

The biggest word in the English Language
I took a couple of days off. Mostly because of what is happening in the political landscape. I fear I would be caught in the whirlwind of speculation.
It seems as though the News Channels don't report the news, really. If there is a breaking story of course they will report it. A cat stuck in a well, or a police car chase in California. That's all important breaking news. And of course, anything that has to do with the weather.
For the most part though, the talking heads spend a lot of time speculating and bringing in experts who further speculate, and of course the top guys who speculate on what the experts just speculated on. A lot of "What Ifs"
IF is the biggest word in the english language. Most things depend on IF. 'If I win the lottery, then....' or 'If so and so gets his promotion, then I might take his place on the food chain'... 'If my team wins the next three games they might take the championship'
If you meet the right person, if you make enough money, if you pray for it, if if if if if if............
Seems like you are leaving a lot of stuff to chance.
Here is a simple affirmation. You CAN change the outcome of a lot of things in YOUR life by just changing the word if to the word when. Call it what you want. Positive thinking, whatever. IT WORKS because it changes your perspective from victim to winner. From now on, say 'When I win the lottery' or 'when I get that promotion' The outcome may not be what you expected. Who knows, it might be better.
Have a great day!

Would love to hear yours too!
Do you voice text? You know, when you talk to your phone and it puts it all down...then you don't check it before you hit send and the person on the other end gets something like...
You are in the clam before the storm...
Let your light be a bacon for all...
If you are important, you should look impotent
...with libraries and justice for all
...Let not your fart be troubled...
I have sent all of these... As I have mentioned before, we are all victims of tech. Share a few zingers with me today, and root for the Cubs to win the World Serious.....

I am a Pinterest Fan
I don't do a lot of what I call peripheral social media. (snap chat, instagram) Though I do facebook a lot and Tweet only very occasionally.
One of the things I discovered a little over a year ago was Pinterest. I have several pages within my page ranging from things like James Bond and Movie, to T.V. , rockabilly, a lot of retro stuff, a page about me and of course, Random Words of Wisdom.
If I could be so bold, I would like to share a few of them with you just to get your week kick-started.

Do you want your car making life changing decisions for you?
OK. I sell cars. I work for Jim Marsh Kia in Las Vegas. (plug plug). I get asked almost on a weekly basis when we will have a self driving car. The answer to that is, when they come out. Part of me would love a self driving car revolution because it would open a whole new market for me as a sales person. On the other hand, I don't know if I want to be in, or sharing the road with self driving cars. I am not sure how the tech works. I know that it has to do with satellites and cameras and sensors and any number of systems that can fail while you are doing 80 MPH per hour and taking a nap while depending on your tech to make decisions like when to stop when a forklift falls off the truck in front of you.
We are a tech dependent race. As we have seen in the news, tech is a playing field for hackers who have nothing better to do than screw with people's lives without a care. So if someone pushes a button 2000 miles away and makes your self driving car plunge into the ocean, this is not a good day. How does it handle finding a parking space? What about that detour? That child that is running in the street to catch a puppy that ran out? Too many grey areas here. If you are in a car, you should be driving, and in control. There have already been instances with self driving cars killing people. It's all great in Sci Fi, "Thank you for taking Johnny Cab"...But do we really NEED a car that drives itself?
Did we learn nothing from 2001 A Space Odyssey? "Open the Pod Doors HAL..."
"I'm sorry, I can't do that Dave.."
I can see it now, headed toward your garage door, and it does not open because your car has decided to take over and wreak havoc in your neighborhood? I remember the first self driving car I ever saw. Christine. How soon we forget.
Who gets the ticket when your self driving car blows through a Red Light? Who is to blame with insurance when your self driving car rear ends someone? Too many questions.
Remember about 10 years ago when they said Electric cars will change the way we drive forever? That half the cars on the road will be electric by 2015? How'd that work out? I feel as though this whole self driving car thing will go the same way. They will be rare and very expensive. I'll wait for the Flying Cars to hit before I get terribly excited. Because, "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads...."

I feel as though this whole self driving car thing will go the same way. They will be rare and very expensive. I'll wait for the Flying Cars to hit before I get terribly excited. Because, "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads...."

Cyber attacks, computer crashes, NO NETFLIX???
So, I guess there was some Cyber attack that took out the east coast's twitter, Nextflix (oh no) and other stuff we need to communicate to others what we had for breakfast.
We all know what is coming down the road. It will effect your T.V., cell phone, car, computer, ipad, router, camera, ...anything that has a processor. Here is the news story, I will meet you at the end of it................

US Internet Repeatedly Disrupted by Cyberattacks on Key Firm
- By RAPHAEL SATTER AND FRANK BAJAK, AP WRITERS
Cyberattacks on a key internet firm repeatedly disrupted the availability of popular websites across the United States Friday, according to analysts and company officials. The White Housedescribed the disruption as malicious. Members of a hacker group spread across China and Russia claimed responsibility, although their assertion couldn't be verified.
Manchester, New Hampshire-based Dyn Inc. said its server infrastructure was hit by distributed denial-of-service attacks, which work by overwhelming targeted machines with junk data traffic. The attack had knock-on effects for users trying to access popular websites from across America and even in Europe, affecting sites such as Twitter, Netflix and PayPal.
BROAD EFFECTS
The level of disruption was difficult to gauge, but Dyn provides internet traffic management and optimization services to some of the biggest names on the web, including Twitter, Netflix and Visa. Critically, Dyn provides domain name services, which translate the human-readable addresses such as "twitter.com" into an online route for browsers and applications.
Steve Grobman, chief technology officer at Intel Security, compared an outage at a domain name services company to tearing up a map or turning off GPS before driving to the department store. "It doesn't matter that the store is fully open or operational if you have no idea how to get there," he said in a telephone interview.
Jason Read, founder of the internet performance monitoring firm CloudHarmony, owned by Gartner Inc., said his company tracked a half-hour-long disruption early Friday in which roughly one in two end users would have found it impossible to access various websites from the East Coast. A second attack later in the day caused disruption to the East and West Coasts as well as impacting some users in Europe.
"It's been pretty busy for those guys," Read said. "We've been monitoring Dyn for years and this is by far the worst outage event that we've observed."
Read said Dyn provides services to some 6 percent of America's Fortune 500 companies. "It impacted quite a few users," he said of the morning's attack. A full list of affected companies wasn't immediately available, but Twitter, Netflix, PayPal and the coder hangout Github said they briefly experienced problems earlier Friday.
HACKERS CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY
Members of a shadowy hacker collective that calls itself New World Hackers claimed responsibility for the attack via Twitter. They said they organized networks of connected "zombie" computers that threw a staggering 1.2 terabits per second of data at the Dyn-managed servers.
"We didn't do this to attract federal agents, only test power," two collective members who identified themselves as "Prophet" and "Zain" told an AP reporter via Twitter direct message exchange. They said more than 10 member participated in the attack. It was not immediately possible to verify the claim.
Dyn officials said they did not know who was behind the attacks or if they were orchestrated by a state-backed group or online activists or pranksters. They said they have received no claim of responsibility, but are working with law enforcement.
The collective, @NewWorldHacking on Twitter, has in the past claimed responsibility for similar attacks against sites including ESPNFantasySports.com in September and the BBC on Dec. 31. The attack on the BBC marshalled half the computing power of Friday's onslaught.
The collective has also claimed responsibility for cyberattacks against Islamic State. The two said about 30 people have access to the @NewWorkdHacking Twitter account. They said 20 are in Russia and 10 in China. "Prophet" said he is in India. "Zain" said he is in China. The two claimed to be taking "good actions."
Another collective member the AP previously communicated with via direct message called himself "Ownz" and identified himself as a 19-year-old in London. He told the AP that the group — or at least he — sought through hacking only to expose security vulnerabilities.
During the attack on the ESPN site, "Ownz" was asked if the collective made any demands on sites it attacked, such as demanding blackmail money. "We will make one demand actually.. Secure your website and get better servers, otherwise be attacked again," he said.
THE VULNERABLE INTERNET
For James Norton, the former deputy secretary at the Department of Homeland Security who now teaches on cybersecurity policy at Johns Hopkins University, the incident was an example of how attacks on key junctures in the network can yield massive disruption.
"I think you can see how fragile the internet network actually is," he said.
Dyn officials said attacks stemmed from tens of millions of devices connected to the internet — closed-circuit video cameras, digital video recorders and even thermostats — that were infected with malware. Attacks came in waves and from IP addresses from around the world, shifting geographically.
Dyn first became aware of an attack around 7:00 a.m. local time, focused on data centers on the East Coast of the U.S. Services were restored about two hours later. But then attackers shifted to offshore data centers, and the latest wave of problems continued until Friday evening Eastern time.
"It is a very smart attack. As we start to mitigate they react and start to throw something that's over the top," Kyle York, chief strategy officer of Dyn, on a call with reporters.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is monitoring the situation, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Friday. He said he had no information about who may be behind the disruption.
Security experts have recently expressed concern over increasing power of denial-of-service attacks following high-profile electronic assaults against investigative journalist Brian Krebsand French internet service provider OVH .
In a widely shared essay titled "Someone Is Learning How to Take Down the Internet," respected security expert Bruce Schneier said last month that major internet infrastructure companies were seeing a series of worrying denial-of-service attacks.
"Someone is extensively testing the core defensive capabilities of the companies that provide critical internet services," he said.
So, the thing I worry about is stuff like Medical records, sales transactions, pay pal, credit cards and especially my bank accounts. You see, you only have in the bank what the computer SAYS you have in the bank. I know there are back ups and back ups for the back ups, but still...I worry about the day you walk into the bank and they tell you that you have 0 in your account when you know there is several thousand in there. You're all of a sudden broke because the bank says you are. Now, that said, they will be able to (I hope) trace your account and straighten it out...a day? A week? A Month? EVER?
My advise, and take this for what it is worth, I only keep a minimum in the bank. Get a safe, a mattress, whatever. Buy Gold, (a gram at a time as currency grade, ie: Karatbars International) as gold has never been worth nothing. I try to have 10% of my income net worth in Gold. (Do not get a safe deposit box. If your bank shuts it's doors, you, my friend are S.O.L.)
Don't get me wrong. I am not a doomsdayer, nor am I a fear monger. I am pretty computer savvy, and if it all hits the fan, you should be ready to be mobile. Cash and Gold will go a long way.
I am reminded of the movie, The Postman. I think of all the post apocalyptic movies out there, that The Postman is probably pretty close to the way it will be. So, like I said, take it all for what it's worth. If you disagree with me, cool. No worries. Just remember.....Soylent Green is...Never mind. Have a great day. Change your passwords 4 times a year and make sure your firewall is working. Cheers.

Thomas Jefferson
This was e mailed to me today. I thought it was important enough to share with you. No matter what your Political affiliation, this is great stuff.
At 9, studied Latin, Greek and French.
At 14, studied classical literature and additional languages.
At 23, started his own law practice.
At 53, served as Vice President and was elected president of the American Philosophical Society.

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe,
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
So Please do yours.
At 83, Thomas Jefferson died on the 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence along with John Adams.
His Portrait is on the Two $2.00 Dollar Bill.
This is amazing. There are two parts.
Be sure to read the 2nd part ( in RED ).

Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, His laws and the nature of man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today.
Jefferson really knew his stuff.
A voice from the past to lead us in the future:
John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the White House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement: "This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe,
we shall become as corrupt as Europe ."
--Thomas Jefferson
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work
and give to those who would not."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.
A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."
--Thomas Jefferson
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government
results from too much government."
--Thomas Jefferson
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
--Thomas Jefferson
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
--Thomas Jefferson
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
--Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties
than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of
their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation,
the banks and corporations that will grow up around
the banks will deprive the people of all property –
until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
I wish we could get this out to every American!
